WE NEED YOUR HELP
Volunteers play a vital role in nearly every aspect of the Nature Center’s operations. Over the past 60 years, Closter Nature Center’s success in protecting our cherished forested wetland reserve, and providing quality educational programming is a testament to the hard work of scores of dedicated volunteers. Conservation is an active process and we are always looking for new volunteers to lend a hand!
Some of our volunteers roll up their sleeves in the field to plant, restore, and sometimes get muddy in wetland habitats—all to support our Reforestation Initiative and manage invasive species so the native forest can thrive. Others help monitor our more than three miles of trails, ensuring that any issues are quickly addressed so visitors can enjoy safe, easy access.
Others support our programs, special events, and administrative efforts. Extra help is always welcome when crowds arrive for the Pond Celebration or when Nature Marc finds himself outnumbered by enthusiastic summer campers. And, of course, our Greeters provide an essential connection to the public, welcoming visitors, offering information and interpretation, and helping ensure that everyone who stops by has a safe and memorable experience.
